As Clara Wortner, who owns and operates the club along with her husband Stanley and their daughter, tells me, there is very little forested land left in southwestern Ontario, something made evident by a glance at the area with Google maps. From the time Stanley bought the land in 1959, the intent was to reforest it and act as conservationists in a county (Chatham-Kent) where they are no laws to protect woodlands.
