"The breasts of a woman in our society symbolize sexuality, or rather, sex. It’s sexy when a girl has big boobs, and when she wears low-cut shirts—never mind the fact that they’re attached to the rest of our bodies. But going topless isn’t about being sexy. It’s about utilizing the freedom that we have as women, to be half-naked because we can be."
"So again, the foot’s arches do not need support any more than the center of an arched bridge needs support. In fact, that support weakens the muscles and tendons of the foot, ruining the supportive feature of the arches. I’ve noted this a zillion times before: populations that regularly go barefoot do not have a problem with collapsed arches."
"Take two recent campaigns. In one, a model smiles while holding a sign proclaiming: “I’ve just had my breasts done, but the biggest change you’ll see is on my face.” The other is a pair of ads: the first featuring a woman looking mournfully down at her A cups, while in the second, she beams above her new DDs. Yet a US study suggested women who have breast implants are almost three times as likely to kill themselves as their silicone-free cousins."
"After reaching 100,000 members last August, TrueNudists.com was upgraded to offer additional functionality and privacy for its members. As it continues to grow exponentially, the site’s creator is taking action to ensure the content remains clean and focused on naturist activities. The site is constantly monitored to identify those who are using it inappropriately. “We want the site to be a safe haven for nudists and naturists to virtually ‘hang out’ and chat with others in the lifestyle. What TrueNudists.com is not is a pornographic site. These new upgrades allow us to quickly find and remove members who are using the site in such a manner,” shared the site’s creator.:
"There’s a squeamishness, not just about milky mammaries, but about women’s bodily functions in general, that makes it unsurprising that folk feel uncomfortable when we talk about them to school children. And there still persists the mythology that by giving our children accurate information about the sexual functions of their bodies, we are somehow inadvertently ‘marketing’ the idea of dropping out and becoming that most feared of stereotypes: a teenage mother."
“Anyone can take off clothes and climb on a surfboard in the summer sun, but it takes a particular type of thrill-seeker to take off their clothes and speed down a ski mountain in the crisp winter air. More than just a show of toughness, naked skiing can be a sexy, exciting, and invigorating twist on a great sport.”
"Any state or local law making it illegal for a woman to go topless is unconstitutional, but most people don’t know that," said GoTopless President Nadine Gary. "That’s why we’re taking the issue of topless rights to the top by demanding the president’s attention to this issue. A woman’s right to go topless falls under the 14th Amendment’s gender equality provision, and nobody knows that better than President Obama. He taught constitutional law."
Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Jennifer Schecter today dismissed the single hygiene code violation for the topless train trip after Van Voast defense lawyer Ron Kuby argued that the regulation applied only to people using MTA facilities for washing and bathing.
“We had a quick discussion amongst the directors within the division and…it was felt that…the decision not to allow them to have a permit may be seen as discriminatory based on gender.”
This decision was news to Sylvie Chabot, the head of GoTopless Canada. “If it’s true, then I would be more than happy because that’s the purpose of our march — to fix the law and make women [feel] comfortable.”
